Cause Description:
Our program is a 10 week job skills training program for underpriviliged women. Our clients come from welfare, shelters, abusive situations, ones going through rehab from alcholic and drugs and women who just need to update their computer skills. These ladies need skills to get in todays job market. We do class room studies 5 days a week 6 hours a day. We teach them to become self-reliant and to appreciate and like themselves again. We mentor them thru their rough times for a least a year, longer if necessary. If child care is involved it costs us approximately $1,000 per student for the 10 weeks. My position and all our teachers and mentors are volunteers. We seek financial help thru fund raisers and donations. When our National Christian Women's Job Skills Director gave me the information regarding the igive web site I was thrilled. I immediately contacted family, friends, churchs and anyone else I could think of to join the site and donate to EBBA CWJC.
