Cause Description:
Wings of Discovery is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation that was founded by Stephanie Sayre in the Fall of 2010. We bring birds of prey to public venues, from street fairs to school assemblies, public libraries, nursing homes and scouting events. Our birds are brought to these venues by experienced falconers who have vast knowledge of birds of prey and their place in the ecosystem. Our purpose is to educate the public about these amazing winged creatures with whom we share the planet. Located in Los Angeles County, our organization provides life-long sanctuary to various species of birds of prey. Several of our birds would have been euthanized had we not been able to provide them with a place to live and thrive. Man continues to provide a challenge for these animals and we believe that educating the public about the value and needs of these birds will inspire us to take better care of our environment.
